Polymem Max Silver Non-Adhesive Foam Pad
Introducing PolyMem MAX Silver Foam Dressings
For a combination of higher absorption and antimicrobial action, apply a PolyMem MAX Silver Foam Dressing to the wound bed. For use as a primary or secondary dressing, PolyMem MAX Silver provides non-adhesive construction for atraumatic removal and adaptable composition for cleansing, filling and moistening wounds.
How Do PolyMem MAX Silver Foam Dressings Work?
Compared to other PolyMem solutions, MAX dressings are defined by two characteristics:
• Thicker construction allows for greater fluid adsorption and exudate management once applied to the wound. During healing, this factor translates to longer wear time and fewer dressing changes.
• High MVTR film, which physically blocks out external bacteria and microorganisms while assisting with moisture management to create an ideal healing environment.
For creating an ideal healing environment, each dressing:
• Includes a mild cleansing agent that won’t irritate wound tissue to keep the area clear and loosen necrotic tissue and other debris.
• Features a super-absorbent hydrophilic polyurethane foam matrix that draws in wound fluid and debris before developing a gel consistency.
• Adds glycerol to prevent the gel formation from adhering to the wound bed, to control odors and to soften dead tissue.
• Holds onto liquids with a semi-permeable continuous film backing with a high MVTR.
PolyMem Max Silver Foam Dressings further add small-particle silver for its antibacterial effects. Once the foam absorbs moisture and fluids, the dressing releases silver ions that protect against bacterial contamination.
